Synopsis:

 
  A 38 yr old woman with ulcerative colitis for ten years was given 30 minutes of foot reflexology, 3 sessions per week, after unsuccessful attempts from conventional methods. Reflex areas focused on were the adrenals, kidneys, ureters, bladder, pituitary, neck, eyes, stomach, duodenum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum, anus, uterus, urethra, and lymphatic system and were massaged 15-25 times. After 25 sessions, her health improved significantly. These sessions of foot reflexology were believed to excrete toxins, increase body resistance, and accelerate healing of the colon mucosa.

Conclusion:

 
 

Foot reflexology has been shown to be effective in reducing the symptoms of non-specific ulcerative colitis.
