Synopsis:

 
  A 77 year old male, bedridden for 45 days, not able to turn around or move his legs due to repeated attacks of gout (a disease caused by disturbance of purine metabolism, acute or chronic recurrent arthritis, resulting from huperuricemia and uritic precipitation in the joints. The diseased joints are swelled and deformed, accompanied by kidney and cardiovascular lesions) was given foot reflexology, Treatment with various drugs had only given him temporary relief of symptoms. After the fifth session, the patient was able to walk around; and after 2 months of reflexology, he improved significantly. He was able to ride a tricycle and go back to work.

Conclusion:

 
  Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief symptoms associated with gout.
