Synopsis:

12 cases, both male and female, ages 21-64, with urinary lithiasis or urolithiasis (9 cases of kidney stones and 3 cases of ureter stones) were given 10 sessions of foot reflexology and traditional massage. One 64 yr old woman, who had received 3 medical treatments unsuccessfully causing hydronephrosis, was given 20 treatments of foot reflexology. After the first treatment, her "stone street" was loosened and after 20 treatments, the stones were gone. Results: 9 cases (75%) had no more stones and 3 cases dropped out of treatments.

Conclusion:

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of urinary lithiasis or urolithiasis.
