40 cases, both male and female, with cervical spondylosis were divided into 2 groups. A treatment group of 20, ages 47-69, were given 10-15 minutes of foot reflexology once every other day for 10 sessions along with masso-therapy. The control group of 20, ages 45-70, were given foot reflexology only. The reflexes focused on for both groups were the kidney, ureter, bladder, pituitary, parathyroid glands, adrenal gland, gonad, neck, vertebrae, trapezius muscle, scapula, shoulder, elbow, knee, lymphatic gland, and brain. Results : The treatment group had a higher rate of improvement and less sessions. |

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of cervical spondylosis, but was especially effective when used in conjunction with massage therapy to other regions of the body. |
