Synopsis:
A study was done to examine why people sought reflexology for treatment and to document their socio-economic characteristics. Results: 71% were female, 85% previously sought advice from a medical doctor, 43% stated medical treatment was unsuccessful, 8% were not helped by doctors, and 22% did not want traditional medicine. Reflexology was chosen as the alternative health therapy because of its already important acceptance in Denmark.
