Synopsis:
Two groups of children, ages 3-6, were studied for 40 days. They were divided into 2 groups- Sixty were given ultraviolet irradiation on certain points of their soles. Thirty-eight children were controlled for age, diet, living and heating conditions. Both groups were studied to see the effectiveness in preventing against the common cold and influenza.
Conclusion:
Ultraviolet irradiation of soles was found to be effective in protecting children from the common cold and influenza (CCI).
