Synopsis:

 
  40 patients, both male and female, who were unable to urinate after brain surgeries were divided into two groups. The first group of 20 were treated with reflexology. The second group of 20 were given sounds, massage and warm air to stimulate urination. In the first group, the patients were able to urinate within 10-30 minutes of the reflexology session compared to the second group who were unable to urinate within 30 minutes after the session. The success rate for reflexology was 90%; and the other methods 75%.

Conclusion:

 
 

Stimulation of foot reflexes was found to be effective for producing excretion of urine after cranial surgery.
