Synopsis:

 
  A 49 year old woman, with painful urinary retention since the age of 5, was given 20 sessions of foot reflexology after unsuccessful results with Traditional Chinese medicine. Micturation lasted for 15 minutes and was accompanied by unbearable pain. After 7 sessions, passing urine became easier and less painful, then subsided gradually and disappeared.

Conclusion:

 
 

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of refractory uroschesis or painful urinary retention.
